In recent years, Google has worked a lot to tighten up the security of its services. Most Google services have got new security features to keep users safe. Google Password Manager is a service by the company that can generate a unique password for each Google app. The app now lets you create and add its shortcut to the Android home screen. It can even check if any of your saved passwords are compromised. Users can access Google Password Manager through the web or Chrome’s settings menu under “Autofill.” However, the service is also available on Android through Google Play Services. Using the Google Password Manager on Android is much more straightforward. It even lets you use the device’s biometrics or screen lock to unlock your saved passwords.
Google Password Manager shortcut comes to the Android home screen
To recall the Password Manager app on Android, you can rely on Google Assistant. However, the chances are the web app opens for you, which is a bit more complicated than the Android version and requires you to enter your Google Account password manually. If you want to access the Password Manager on Android, go to the Settings app and then choose the Privacy menu. Now, tap the Autofill service from Google and choose Passwords. Google has recently released an update for the Play Store that you can rely on to create a shortcut for Password Manager. First, you need to make sure that your Google Play Services is updated to the latest version. Google’s support page says you should install version 22.18 or newer. After updating the Google Play Services, open the Password Manager app and tap the gear icon in the top-right corner. A new option called “Add shortcut to your home screen” was recently added to the settings menu. After tapping on this option, you can drag the icon to any place on your home screen. This will allow you to reach the Google Password Manager through the home screen quickly.
